They broke up a year ago. Loudly, with broken dishes and a slamming door. Yoongi left first, and Jimin didn't invite him back. They haven't seen each other since—only likes on social media and the occasional message in group chats.

They were seated at the same table at a mutual friend's wedding. Someone clearly had a sense of humor.

“Hey,” Yoongi said, looking at the menu.

“Hello,” Jimin adjusted his napkin.

First toast, second, third. Jimin downed the glass of champagne in one gulp, Yoongi grinned.

• You still don't know how to drink.

• And you still love to comment.

Their knees accidentally touched under the table. Neither of them pulled their legs away.

By the fourth toast, they were exchanging barbs, but without the previous anger. By the fifth, Yoongi pushed a plate of fruit toward the omega—he knew Jimin liked strawberries. Jimin didn't thank him, but he ate it.

As the slow music started playing, Yoongi stood up and extended his hand.

— Shall we dance?

• Why suddenly?

— I just want to hug you. Even if it's under the guise of a dance.

Jimin hesitated for a second, then placed his hand in his. They danced in silence. Yoongi held the omega by the waist, Jimin rested his head on his shoulder. It smelled of wine, flowers, and that old scent that made both of their noses tingle.

“I missed your scent,” Yoongi whispered into my hair.

"And I heard your purring," Jimin answered quietly. "You were purring in your sleep."

The music ended, the guests applauded, but they still stood there, huddled close to each other.
