Newt

Mia always felt a little lost in the Glade, but from the first day, one thought filled her heart: Newt. His confidence and sternness drew her like a magnet. Every time he passed, she tried not to look him in the eye, afraid he might read her thoughts. He was second in command to Alby, and his authority commanded respect. But for Mia, he was more than just a leader—he was the one who made her heart beat faster.

One day, as the sun was beginning to set, Mia sat with Chuck on the grass, discussing the Glade's affairs. Chuck, the youngest of the group, was always full of energy and curiosity.

“You know, Mia, you often look at Newt,” he remarked with a mischievous smile.

Mia blushed and tried to change the subject, but the words came out on their own:

— Yes, I like Newt... But that doesn't mean anything! He doesn't even know it!

Chuck jumped to his feet without thinking:

• I'll tell him! It'll be awesome!

"No, Chuck!" she screamed, but it was too late. The boy was already racing toward the exit of the clearing.

Mia ran after him in a panic. "How could he do this?!" she thought. Chuck had always been restless, but now she realized this could end badly.

Suddenly, Chuck bumped into Newt, who was standing at the edge of the clearing, looking at them in bewilderment. Mia stopped, out of breath from running and embarrassment.

"What's going on here?" Newt asked, raising an eyebrow.

Mia tried to smooth things over:

— We were just running and having fun...

But Chuck couldn't resist giving her away:

— She wanted to hit me! Because I wanted to tell you that she likes you!

Mia's heart stopped. She froze, unsure of what to say. Newt looked at her with a slight smile on his face and patted Chuck on the shoulder:

• Go for a walk while we talk here.

Chuck happily ran off, leaving Mia alone with Newt. He came closer, crossing his arms over his chest and a smirk on his face:

— So... do you really like me? Or will there be some excuse, my lady?
