Gikari's father worked at a pharmacy called Kusuri no Marusumi. He was known as a friendly and thorough man, often helping customers choose medicines or patiently explaining how to use them. Because of his work, Gikari's father often reminded his daughter to take care of her health and be careful when traveling. However, one thing that always bothered her father was the fact that Gikari hated bitter medicine. Even when sick, little Gikari would often hide in her room or find excuses to avoid taking it.
Meanwhile, her mother worked at a traditional tea shop called Ocha no Fuji Dōsono. In contrast to her father, who was calmer and more logical, her mother was gentle and patient. From a young age, Gikari often accompanied him to the tea shop after school. He enjoys the aroma of tea leaves filling the room and watching customers come and go. Ironically, however, Gikari isn't particularly fond of the bitter taste often found in some traditional teas.

Because both of his parents worked almost every day, Gikari was accustomed to spending a lot of time alone. As a child, he often sat by the window waiting for his parents to come home. While his friends played with their families on the weekends, Gikari would often take walks around the neighborhood or explore side streets he'd never been on before.

When she entered junior high school, she began taking more walks than usual. It wasn't because he had a specific goal in mind, but because he enjoyed the feeling of discovering something new. Sometimes she carried a small notebook to jot down interesting places she encountered along the way. She even made her own little map of her favorite spots in Koriyama.
