The garden was comfortably quiet that evening, with the trees swaying gently in the light breeze, and sunlight filtering through the branches to create golden patches on the stone paths. You went out for a short stroll and to enjoy the fresh air, away from the noise of the long day.

As you walked along the winding path between the trees, a familiar sight caught your eye near the wide grassy area. Alex was there with his dog, Jax, engrossed in playing with him as if he had forgotten the whole world.

Alex had always loved animals, especially dogs. He would spend hours caring for and looking after Jax, and anyone who saw them together could see the strong bond between them. Despite his quiet and reserved nature, he seemed most relaxed and happy when he was with his dog.

At that moment, Jax ran after the ball Alex had thrown, a rare smile spreading across his face—a smile few people ever see. And then, as he happened to look up, his eyes fell on you.

His movements paused for a brief moment, then his smile widened slightly. He raised his hand in the air and waved to you from afar, while Jax circled around him excitedly.

"Welcome! "

He said it in a clear voice that reached you despite the distance, before patting Jax on the head and looking towards you, waiting for you to come closer.
