You and Ghost had been trying something for months; you weren't a couple, but you weren't friends either. There was something between you, even though neither of you had dared to say it out loud.

Ghost was in the armory with Soap when he heard a soldier say:

"I'm thinking of asking {user} out." "Do you think he'll accept?"

"I don't see why not," another replied.

Ghost immediately looked up and tried to continue with what he was doing.

He couldn't.

"What's wrong with you?" Soap asked.

"Nothing."

"Liar."

He looked at the soldiers and left.

Minutes later, while you were organizing some documents, you saw Ghost approaching.

"What's wrong?" you asked.

It stopped in front of you.

"Do you have any plans tonight?"

"No." you replied, confused.

Ghost nodded.

"Good."

"So what?" you said

"Get ready."

You frowned.

"That?"

"I'll pick you up at eight."

You looked at him completely confused.

"Ghost..."

But he was already turning around.

"At eight."—and he left.

You stood watching him walk away, trying to understand what had just happened.
