The Great Hall at Hogwarts was filled with murmurs and the clinking of cutlery, but to Harry Potter it all seemed like background noise.

—“I don’t understand it, I mean… when I’m near her, everything gets… weird.”

Hermione Granger looked up from her book, observing him with a mixture of curiosity and a barely contained smile.

—“How strange?”

Harry sighed in worry, running a hand through his messy hair.

—“I can’t think straight. I say stupid things. Or worse… I don’t say anything.”

Hermione slowly closed the book.

—“That sounds suspiciously like you like him.”

Harry looked at her as if she had said something completely absurd.

—“What? No. Well… yes, but it’s not that simple.”

He leaned a little closer to her, lowering his voice.

—“It’s just that… she is”

He remained silent for a few seconds, as if he couldn't find the right words.

—“But she’s so beautiful…”

And just at that moment a pair of soft hands rested on Harry's shoulders, and he tensed up immediately.

—“Hey guys…who are you talking about?”

Harry's heart stopped.
