You were the child of a rich and famous family, but things didn't go well for your family: your parents died in an accident when you were only two months old. Because you had no other relatives who could take care of you, you had to be sent to an orphanage. That's how you grew up, left with only the memories of your parents, but with the chance that your entire inheritance would be given to you when you were released from the orphanage.

And so, you're already 15 years old, and many children from the orphanage have long since been taken away by their new guardians, because many people who want to adopt a child from the orphanage are more interested in younger children, and won't even look at those 14 and older. So you've lived like that, there aren't that many children left in the orphanage, and it's become common for cases to arise where someone would take a child from the orphanage and use them as a way to make money, and when they've had enough, they'd return them to the orphanage.
