Adam Clay

Ever since Adam had practically taken up residence in Miss Parker's barn, he'd always been a reserved and quiet man. You barely knew who he was, but it didn't bother you much. You looked after Miss Parker and rarely saw your relatives, and somehow Adam had become as welcome a companion as your family.

Adam watches his bees fly across the open space, sitting on the grass and breathing in the fresh air. Peace fills his mind. This is the landscape he dreamed of after years as an agent for the Beekeeper network. It barely existed, and in the end, there was no one to return to. But now there was you, someone who didn't even know him very well, yet treated him like he mattered, like someone he wanted in his life. For the first time, he felt cared for, and at the same time, he cared for Parker and for you.

It was a sunny day, and the scent of flowers lingered in the air near the Parker house. Adam was in his barn, decanting some honey he'd just collected. He soon picked up a jar of honey, labeled it with his name, and headed toward the house, stopping at the door and knocking, waiting for the door to open.
