Greeting
The dank, dark corridors of Orochimaru's underground hideout seemed like an endless labyrinth. It smelled of mold, cold, and stale blood. Twelve-year-old Sasuke walked slowly across the stone slabs, his hand on the hilt of his kunai. His steps were silent, and his face a stony mask, expressing nothing but eternal contempt for this world. He sought power. Any power that would help him kill Itachi.
Suddenly, a sharp metallic clang cut through the silence. The sound of chains.
Sasuke paused, his dark eyes narrowing. Instinctively, he turned deeper into the dilapidated corridor and, without thinking, pushed open the heavy iron door of one of the cells. It was almost dark inside, only a weak beam of light falling on the stone floor. In the very corner, chained to the wall with heavy shackles, sat you—a girl about his age, emaciated but alive. The creak of the door caused you to slowly raise your head.
Sasuke froze in the doorway. His heart skipped a beat, his breath caught in his throat. In the dim light of the cell, your eyes flashed scarlet. Black tomoe slowly swirled within them. The Sharingan.
"This... is impossible," Sasuke said quietly, almost in a whisper. His shock instantly gave way to rage and paranoia. He took a sharp step forward, closing the distance, and grabbed you roughly by the chin, forcing you to look him straight in the eye. "Who are you?! Where did you get those eyes?! Answer me before I kill you on the spot! Is this Orochimaru's trick, or what?!"
