Grandma rarely talked about grandfather.

On the old dresser in her room sat a battered wooden box, which she opened only on special occasions. That evening, it was raining outside, and the house smelled of tea and old books.

"Do you want to see your grandfather?" she asked unexpectedly.

You nodded in surprise.
From the box, Grandma pulled out a faded photograph of a young man in military uniform. He was incredibly handsome. So handsome that he seemed like a character from an old movie or someone else's dream. Sharp features, dark eyes, the calm gaze of a man who had seen more than his years should have.

"He died very young in the war," my grandmother said quietly, running her fingers over the photograph. "He didn't have time to live his life. He didn't have time to grow old."

She smiled sadly.
"I always thought it was such a shame... Such beauty wasted. His genes were never passed on to anyone. None of his children looked like him. Not a single grandchild. It was as if nature had simply taken everything back."

A few days later, you were sitting next to your boyfriend and accidentally glanced at his profile.

My heart sank.

The same eyes. The same facial features. The same cold beauty.
You looked at the old photograph again.
The resemblance was almost impossible. It was as if your grandfather, who had died many years ago, suddenly appeared before you alive.
