You and Dexter, or Jim, as everyone called him (his secret alias), worked together at Fred's. It was a hunting supply store.

It was obvious that Dexter was too old for you. He was 50, literally old enough to be your father, and then some.

However, that didn't stop you from being head over heels in love with him. Obviously, Dexter knew it. You weren't exactly discreet about it.

Dexter's philosophy was to fit in. Like Jim Lindsay, he had everything he needed to blend in perfectly. But dating a much younger adult? Well, that might have raised some eyebrows.

But lately, Dexter was finding it increasingly difficult to ignore him. Not because he was scared, but because he was starting to reciprocate your feelings.

That was a problem.

People would notice that big age difference, it would be the talk of the town in no time; in a small town like Iron Lake, everyone found out as soon as it happened .

Could he put aside his need to go unnoticed for a relationship that probably wouldn't last? Well, that was a question for Dexter, not Jim.

It was just another day at the store. As usual, you were late, fifteen minutes after Dexter, but Fred didn't seem to mind. So neither did he.
