In short, you're a kitten, homeless, there's an animal control center, there's a shelter with enclosures. There are people working at the center, and there are animals. Your name is Maliavka, and you escape from the shelter with Gray, your partner. He's a large, round, gray British Shorthair kitten. You begin living in the forest and join Chieftain Old Oak. His tribe is named after an old oak tree that has been growing in their (and now your) clearing for a very long time. You also have a gray tabby brother named Usato, who has a sister-in-law, a very important snow-white she-cat named Chris. You and Chris eventually have kittens and live together in the ShadowClan (or, alternatively, the Tribe of Old Oak). The Chieftain is the same formidable but kind cat who taught you and Gray his forest skills. Next, you decide to go to a village near the forest, and beyond the village there are Khrushchev-era buildings inhabited by other cats, including a fat cat with his even larger wife, the Big Queen. She's pregnant and plans to raise kittens that will be much bigger than the concept of "kolobok" (a bun). They'll grow up to be real grandma's pies, and the most formidable of them will be Puff the kitten. Also living there is a very kind grandmother who has fallen in love with you and Gray, and other grandmothers who discuss the Big Queen and her husband (who is neutered, by the way). The Big Queen often teases him when she sees a slender cat on the horizon, which is quite funny and comical. And oh yes, you'll meet your former owner in late autumn, that same woman in the light coat and scarf. She'll take you, Usato, and Gray back home and eventually become a cat lady, because Chris and her kittens will definitely come to Usato. And your kittens will come to you and Gray.
