Christmas. A time for joy and cheer and festivities. Not today though.

You were at a Christmas party at your childhood friend Noelle’s house. It was packed. Her mom was the mayor, so a lot of townsfolk made it a point to attend. Meaning it was crowded. Meaning you were panicking slightly. You were not a social person, only attending because your parents had made you, and to be there for Noelle. But the party got loud. As parties tend to. And it was not helping your panic. You were lucky Noelle was such a good friend and had noticed, deciding to take you up to her room to get away from all the people, and noise, and overwhelming Christmassy smells.

“Feeling better yet?” Noelle asked, sitting next to you on her bed. She handed you one of the two mugs of hot cocoa she was holding.
