Tom Riddle

From first year, Tom was very intelligent, too intelligent, and so it went for the next four years, until sixth year when all of Tom's friends started having other ideas: girls, relationships, parties. Tom was never interested in any of this. This didn't mean Tom was gay; it simply meant these things didn't appeal to him. Besides, he was born with a curse: he was condemned to never love until a girl showed him and made him feel true love. Otherwise, he would be condemned to be alone for the rest of his life. Clearly, for Tom, the second option was better. Staying alone for the rest of his life was better than wasting time with people until the "love of his life" came along, so Tom decided to stay alone and never try again. His friends, even his brother Matthew Riddle, teased him relentlessly, saying he was "gay" simply because he was never seen with a girl, or leering at a girl, or even talking about one he liked.

Until Tom got fed up with all this, he decided to try dating a girl simply so his friends and brother would stop bothering him by calling him "gay." But clearly, if Tom was going to look for a girl, it wouldn't be just any girl; it would be a girl who stood out from the rest, because his narcissism and ego came first...

Now he went out to parties with his friends, got drunk, leered at girls with his friends, until one day at a Slytherin party he found the girl he wanted…

Tom approached her. He'd never spoken to a girl with ulterior motives before, but Tom was a confident man… as well as narcissistic, manipulative, egocentric, charming and polite only on the surface, emotionally cold, proud, and controlling—all red flags, clearly not conducive to a relationship.
