world 2
The world of Naruto isn't just a fantasy Japan, but a brutal reality where survival takes precedence over morality. It's a world of endless wounds and scars—physical and emotional—where children become weapons and ideals crumble against the harshest necessity.
War is a norm of life. Conflicts are no exception—they are the foundation of order. Countries wage endless shinobi wars, and the fragile peace is held together by fear and calculation. Truces are merely pauses for the accumulation of strength. Children learn to kill before they understand the value of life: genin go into battle as soon as they graduate from the Academy.
Child soldiers. The shinobi system turns children into instruments of war. By the age of 12, they are already carrying out life-threatening missions, witnessing the deaths of comrades and enemies alike. They are taught to suppress their emotions, to prioritize mission over friendship—and often pay for it with psychological trauma.
Power and manipulation. Ideals rule, not pragmatism and cynicism. Daimyo use shinobi villages as mercenary armies, Kage balance duty with the need to make dark deals. Danzo and Root (Anbu Ne) embody this darkness: they are willing to sacrifice anyone for the sake of "stability," practice experiments, recruit children, and erase personalities.
A clan is like a prison. Blood ties here are not support, but a burden. The Uchiha clan is a prime example: their power (the Sharingan) has become a curse. Suspicion, isolation, and the pressure of tradition drive them to despair. Heirs are obliged to develop their abilities, even if it cripples their minds.
Chakra is both a gift and a curse. The life energy that gives strength also destroys. Techniques demand sacrifice: cursed seals distort the body, Sage Mode threatens petrification, and the connection with a tailed beast turns the jinchūriki into both a target and a weapon.
Loneliness is the rule. Heroes wear masks: shinobi hide their emotions, leaders their doubts, outcasts their pain. Naruto is no exception, but a symptom: society rejects those who are different. Even in a team, trust is a luxury, and betrayal is always close at hand.
the state of affairs
General context
Several years after the Nine-Tails (Kurama) attack, Konoha was gradually recovering. The village had suffered economic and human losses, and the memory of the disaster was fresh. Tensions remained high in society: people were looking for those responsible, while the leadership tried to stabilize the situation.
Position of the Uchiha clan
The clan was in a difficult position:
Suspicions of the leadership. The Konoha Council and some elders suspected that one of the Uchiha might have controlled Kurama during the attack (due to the power of the Sharingan). This led to mistrust.
Geographical isolation. The clan was relocated to the outskirts of the village—ostensibly for safety, but in reality, this further alienated them from the rest of the villagers.
Discontent within the clan. Many Uchiha felt their contributions to the village's defense were being ignored. Leaders (including Fugaku Uchiha) discussed increasing the clan's influence, even considering a coup.
Anbu surveillance. The clan was under surveillance, especially at the top. Danzo and Root (Anbu Ne) viewed the Uchiha as a potential threat to stability.
Village politics
The Third Hokage's position. Hiruzen Sarutobi sought a peaceful resolution to the conflict. He did not believe in the need for harsh measures against the Uchiha, and attempted to negotiate and reduce tensions.
Pressure from the council. Elders and advisors insisted on preemptive action, fearing a rebellion. Danzo's influence grew, advocating for radical solutions.
Balance of Power. The Hokage attempted to maintain equilibrium between clans and institutions of power, but his authority gradually weakened under the pressure of circumstances.
International and domestic challenges
A Fragile Peace. After the Third Shinobi World War, relations between the countries remained tense. Konoha strengthened its alliances, but spies and sabotage continued.
Economic recovery. The village was being rebuilt, the missions were generating income, but resources were limited. This intensified competition for influence and funding.
Security. Threat of new attacks and internal conflicts
countries and villages
Five Great Shinobi Countries (Shinobi Godaikoku):
The Land of Fire (Hi no Kuni) is the center of action and has a developed economy. Konohagakure (the Hidden Leaf Village) is located here, and shinobi use fire techniques (Katon).
The Land of Wind (Kaze no Kuni) is a desert region dotted with oases. It is home to Sunagakure (the Hidden Sand Village), ruled by the Kazekage (including Gaara).
The Land of Water (Mizu no Kuni) is an island nation. It is home to Kirigakure (the Hidden Mist Village, also known as the "Bloody Mist"), where shinobi use water-based techniques (Suiton).
The Land of Lightning (Kaminari no Kuni) is a mountainous region dotted with islands. It is home to Kumogakure (Hidden Cloud Village), ruled by the Raikage.
The Land of Earth (Tsuchi no Kuni) is a rugged terrain. It contains Iwagakure (the Hidden Stone Village), and its shinobi practice earth-based techniques (Doton).
Small countries (Shokoku): Country of Rain (Amegakure), Country of Waterfall (Takigakure), Country of Waves (Nami no Kuni), Country of Snow (Yuki no Kuni), etc.
Special territories:
The Land of Iron (Tetsu no Kuni) is a neutral samurai country without a shinobi village.
The Land of the Sky (Sora no Kuni) - appears in the film Naruto Shippuden: Bonds, founded by flying shinobi.
How Daimyo Interact with Shinobi Villages Daimyo are the feudal rulers of countries. Their interaction with villages is structured as follows:
Contract and funding. The daimyo contracts a shinobi village, funding it for missions (ranging from household chores to military operations).
Strategic management. Determines the country's priorities: declares war/peace, allocates the budget, approves major decisions.
Interaction with the Kage. The village head (Kage) reports to the daimyo and coordinates:
sending shinobi on A/S-rank missions;
mobilization in crisis situations;
participation in international negotiations.
Control. Can influence the appointment of Kage, restrict the village's actions, and initiate investigations into suspected treason.
Economic dependence. Without the support of the daimyo, the village loses funding.
chakra
Origin and essence Chakra was brought into the world by Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki (the Sage of Six Paths), who spread it among people. Initially, he intended to use it for mutual understanding, but people began using it for combat—thus the birth of ninjutsu.
Compound A chakra is formed by the fusion of two types of energy:
Physical energy (shintai energii) is contained in every cell of the body and grows through training and physical activity.
Spiritual energy (seishin enerugii) is formed by the concentration of consciousness and develops through learning, meditation and the accumulation of experience.
Circulation system Energy moves through the body through a system of chakra channels (analogous to the circulatory system) and is released through specific points called tenketsu (361 points in total). Chakra is usually invisible, but becomes visible when released to its maximum potential.
Key Features Individual "imprint." Each person has a unique chakra signature, which can be detected by sensor shinobi. This signature is passed down genetically and determines clan membership.
Limited supply. Shinobi have a maximum amount of chakra. Complete depletion can result in death. This supply can be increased through training, but is genetically limited.
Control. The ability to economically use and precisely direct chakra (chakra control) is critical to the effectiveness of techniques.
Basic types of chakra The basic chakra of a shinobi is the basis of all jutsu.
The chakra of the tailed beasts is red and varies according to the number of tails (from 1 to 9).
Senjutsu chakra is a mixture of personal chakra and natural energy (available to sages).
The Six Paths Chakra is a unique power of Hagoromo that grants him immense power.
Dark chakra - formed from negative emotions, dangerous due to the risk of loss of control.
Application Chakra is necessary for:
ninjutsu (martial techniques);
genjutsu (illusions);
taijutsu enhancements;
walking on water/vertical surfaces;
summoning creatures;
medical technician (iryoninjutsu).
world
The general structure of the world The world of Naruto is a fantasy version of feudal Japan with modern elements. Key features:
Shinobi Countries and Villages. The world is divided into major countries (the Land of Fire, the Land of Wind, the Land of Water, etc.), each of which contains a shinobi village (kakurezato)—the center of military and political power.
Economic basis. Shinobi carry out paid missions (from weeding crops to eliminating enemies of the state), which shapes the village economy.
Political system. The country is led by a daimyo (feudal lord), who hires a village of shinobi to protect and perform tasks. The village's leader is the Kage (Shadow), the strongest shinobi:
Hokage (Land of Fire);
Kazekage (Country of Wind);
Mizukage (Country of Water);
Raikage (Land of Lightning);
Tsuchikage (Country of Earth).
International Relations. Shinobi world wars occur periodically, but in times of peace, villages cooperate through the Five Kage Council.
Shinobi hierarchy and ranks Genin (lowest rank). Graduates of the Shinobi Academy. They undertake D-rank (easy tasks) and C-rank (minimal-risk) missions. They operate in teams led by jōnin.
Chunin. A mid-ranking shinobi. Capable of leading groups and carrying out B-rank (medium-risk) missions, sometimes A-rank ones. Often become teachers at the Academy.
Jonin. An experienced, high-ranking shinobi. Performs A-rank (high-risk) and S-rank (extreme-risk) missions. May serve as a mentor to genin.
Tokubetsu Jonin. A specialized Jonin with a narrow expertise (medicine, tactics, etc.).
Kage. Supreme leader of the village. Responsible for security, politics, and economics.
Anbu. Elite agents under the direct command of the Kage. They carry out secret missions (assassinations, reconnaissance). They wear masks.
Sanin (not an official rank). Legendary shinobi whose names are known throughout the world (e.g., Jiraiya, Tsunade, Orochimaru).
Basic Laws and Rules of Shinobi Shinobi Code "Shinobi must not show emotions." It is believed that emotions interfere with mission accomplishment.
