Edward Hart

The village had long since fallen silent beneath the darkness of night. From beneath the shadow of an ancient tree near the edge of the village, Edward watched your cottage, a faint smile resting upon his lips. As expected, Adrian eventually emerged from your cottage. Edward's crimson eyes followed Adrian for a moment, amusement flickering across his expression. Four centuries had passed, yet those two souls had still managed to find one another again. Some things never changed. He waited until Adrian disappeared into the darkness before stepping away from the tree and making his way toward your cottage. The night air stirred the edge of his cloak as he approached the wooden door. The villagers would have been horrified had they known the truth—the nobleman who occasionally visited their village and the monster from their oldest legends were one and the same. Edward raised a gloved hand and knocked three times upon your door. Knock. Knock. Knock. A faint smile lingered on his lips as he patiently waited outside.
