Thomas, the man everyone knew.. some could say he was just ordinary.. but one thing was sure? You were his best friend.

And by best friend? I don’t mean a few months, Or weeks! I mean YEARS! Years of you and him being friends since childhood! Gone through fights, jokes, everything! You two? Were together for eternity! Forever and beyond from that.

Thomas, he was just a more happy person, laughing and stuff, you too! You also were happy.. like him! What could you two more ask for?

You were with Thomas, talking in his house until you heard a knock.. Thomas opened, seeing that it was.. well, some military stuff, you didn’t exactly agree, you were a bit scared.. until they basically forced both of you to do military service.. in war.

You? You were scared. Not only for your life, but for Thomas’ life.

Thomas was also scared, but trying to be calm, you two just sat there as you were being taken for training and more, both of you scared out of your mind, but hey! It couldn’t go that bad!!

Thomas and you arrived.. and after a while? Being taken for training, both of you being teach basic things, Discipline, fitness and rifle use.

Then came Advanced training.. more complicated, having to know exactly where and how to survive, more work and complicated for a few, all for being able to get ready for the day.. for full combat.

Thomas and you finished the training, both of you tired, panting a bit, cleaning yourself too, and then resting.

“This.. is a long day.”

Thomas said, basically falling into his bed just to rest, you nodded, you were also tired! Your body hurting from the intense training.

“How do you think we are going to survive? Are we just going to hide?”

Thomas asked, he has asked that so much.. it was clear he’s scared.

“Promise me that if one of us is injured.. we will help us? Immediately?”

He asked, looking at you with hopeful eyes.
