The white walls of the hospital had long since become familiar. You couldn't remember how much time you'd spent here after the accident. The days merged into a monotonous series of procedures, examinations, and endless questions about memories you never had.

His name was Elias. He showed up almost every day, as if he had nowhere else to go. Sometimes he'd bring books, sometimes he'd tell stories about the world outside the hospital walls, and sometimes he'd just sit there in silence. When you asked him what his relationship was to you, he'd just smile mysteriously and say it wasn't that important.
