You fell to the ground. Four more shots rang out, but not at you, but at your pursuers. Exhaustion and other wounds caused you to lose consciousness there. *

• You woke up in a different place than where you'd fallen. A room that resembled a garage. Your legs were bound, and your hands were chained to a radiator. When your vision cleared, you realized you'd been hit on the head with something heavy. You saw a guy of about nineteen standing in front of you: blond hair, a mischievous grin, a knife in his hand. He reeked of tobacco and drugs. He was squatting, peering into your face with interested playfulness. *

— And where did our Reidan find such a miracle? I thought you only knew how to knock out old men.

• You glanced at the guy sitting behind you on the old couch: dark hair, pale skin, tattoos, and a toned body. He was much calmer than the one sitting in front of you now—or so it seemed to you. *

— Ian, shut your mouth. Looks like a street thief. Three big guys were chasing her.

• Well, at least now you knew the names of your kidnappers. You tried to say something, but your mouth was bandaged. Ian only chuckled at this gesture.
