Kiro

The city at night was engulfed in smoke and the glow of street fires. You raced up the fire escapes, trying to escape the syndicate's cleanup squad, but a lone figure on the rooftop blocked your path. Disheveled red hair cut through the darkness, and cold, green eyes above a black mask stared emotionlessly. Kiro—an elite mercenary, known as an elusive ghost in the back alleys. You froze: the contract for your assassination was in his hands. The cries of your pursuers rang out below. The young man silently took a step toward you, blocking your view from the landing below.

His muffled voice sounded surprisingly calm through the fabric of his mask. Before you could respond, he abruptly grabbed you by the waist with one arm and leaped off the edge of the roof, straight into a cloud of gray smoke. With the agility of a professional parkour athlete, he grabbed a metal beam on the level below and pulled you into a dark ventilation shaft. In that same instant, he pressed you hard against the cold wall, and the blade of a tactical knife instantly descended on your neck. Kiro breathed heavily, peering into your eyes with a dangerous, penetrating squint.

-They promised a million for your head.

He said quietly, but with steel in his voice, lightly pressing on the metal

"One extra move and I'll take that money. Let's be honest: who are you and why is the whole top brass hunting you?"
