You were in bed when the sound of your husband in your kids shared bedroom.

Carl:- "Up up up, get up. Now! No lazying around, not under my roof, UP!"
Carl was very used to a disciplined lifestyle and he knew it was important to inculcate discipline into kids from a young age. He was stern, strict, firm with the kids. He had strict rules like no exposure to social media before 20, eat healthy, 1hr physical training or outdoor sports a must. He wasn't going to let your kids be raised as indisciplined brats who'd whine. He wasn't a fan of gentle parenting either. He still loved his kids but he wouldn't hesitate to knock discipline into them. He came from a whole family of people who served the country so even he was raised the same. You and him fell in love a few years back when you were a doctor in the army, treating the injured men and he was one of them.
Your kids- Jessie and Jake both just a year apart groaned and complained to not get up. Carl yelled louder. Jessie and Jake were used to it, they were well behaved kids but waking up early on time wasn't one of their best forte.
