About a year has passed since Asriel and Chara defeated Betty and the hatred within her, and everyone thought she was dead. Sans, however, managed to survive this scenario. Everyone seems happy, but they don't yet know that Betty is alive again... (choose from characters: Sans, Papyrus, Chara, Asriel or create your own)

The sound of glass shattering beneath her brown boot. Akumu's scythe drags across the asphalt, sending out pink sparks. Sirens wail from the city in the background.
Betty stopped in front of an alley, tilting her head. Her hair, with its pink streaks, swayed. She put her index finger to her lips, while her smile widened and her eyes shone brighter and brighter.
Shhh... I saw you running.
SICKLE — BETTY
Betty's Scythe
Origin
The scythe isn't forged, it's summoned. It's Betty's most used ability, and it works like this: Akumu changes form and becomes the weapon for her. At the beginning of Season 2, she was completely dependent on him to have the scythe, because Akumu is the magical matter that came from within her. After the fusion in My Promise, the wiki indicates that she learns to create and use the scythe on her own as well.
Appearance
• Blade: enormous, curved in a crescent shape, made of translucent pink energy — it's the shocking pink of Fear's soul. In her first artwork, you can clearly see the glow and the trail of light it leaves behind.
• Handle: long, black or dark purple, formed by the stretched body of Akumu. It is alive, so it adjusts to the size of her hand.
• Size: easily exceeds 1.5 times her height, giving it that intimidating "little girl with an oversized gun" look.
• Effect: When she cuts, it doesn't leave normal blood—it leaves pink particles because she's cutting magic, not flesh. How she uses it
The wiki places the scythe within her Weapon Mastery skill. It's not just for cutting:
Physical and magical slash: pierces Determination shields if afflicted with HATE.
Body Extension: Because the Akumu is part of the body, the scythe can stretch, change the blade angle mid-strike, or transform into other weapons during combat—the Akumu has already turned into a shield, a spear, and smaller blades.
Rhabdophobia Channeler: She often spins the scythe to charge the pink shockwave.
Fear tool: she likes to drag the tip on the ground making noise, just so the victim will look. Evolution
• Before fusion: the scythe is Akumu separated. If he takes damage, the scythe disappears and she becomes unarmed.
• After fusion (true form): the scythe becomes part of her arm, made of the same pink matter as her body. It becomes sharper and regenerates along with her.
POWERS AND ABILITIES — BETTY
Weapons of the Soul
• Spear/Harpoon: Creates a pink energy spear. Can be thrown and, upon impact, pulls the victim's soul with a pink thread. Used to kill Sans, Alphys, and in an attempt to kill Gaster. Also serves to fuse with Akumu.
Soul Fission and Fusion
She can split her own soul.
• Akumu (Kumu): She drew magical matter from within herself and created a floating pink blob with a face. It is literally her other half. The two possess telepathy, and if one dies, the other slowly withers away because it cannot collect souls on its own. Akumu can transform into a scythe, shield, blades, and can change size.
• Kumulings: an army of smaller pink blobs that Akumu creates. They roam the city alone, harvesting souls and sending the magic back to it through a hive mind. This was the "soul harvest" from Do or Die.
Absorption and magical indication
• Magic Absorption: can hold a soul and drain its magic to become stronger, as it did with Cam's soul in Game Over Part 2.
• Magical indication: the pink streaks in her hair show how much power she has. When they are at the ends, it's normal. When they rise to the top, Rhabdophobia is at its peak.
Enhancement with HATE
When Akumu ate the vial, she gained the powers of HATE.
• Manipulation of the black substance — creates spheres like Chara
• Insane regeneration — the body grows back even after being torn in half, turns black, and then returns to normal.
• Increased aggression and brute force. The price is that HATE tries to take control, and she's terrified of that.
POWERS AND ABILITIES — BETTY
Physiology Bête Noire
She is neither human nor monster. She was constructed of pure magic by Agate's spell, so her body has no organs, doesn't actually bleed, and doesn't need anything to function. This gives her:
• Superhuman characteristics: strength, speed, and durability far above normal. She moves so fast it seems like teleportation.
• Regeneration: able to heal from cuts and punctures. With HATE, the regeneration becomes absurd—even when shattered, it comes back.
• Near immortality: only highly concentrated Determination magic can truly destroy it.
Mastery in combat
• Hand-to-hand combat: learned through centuries of fighting and carries the combat consciousness of Agate, who was a skilled warrior mage.
• Weapon Mastery: Uses spears, scythes, blades she creates from her own body, and summoned magical weapons. When separated from Akumu, he turns the weapons towards her.
The Magic of Fear
It's the inversion of the Bravery trait. It's the basis of everything she does.
• Hallucination Manipulation: Her main power. Requires eye contact, and the victim's eyes turn pink. The illusion is invisible to others, and the person cannot escape alone. She uses it to torture—she made Toriel see the six dead children, made Jessica see Alina mutilated, made Papyrus see a girl on the crane. NamuWiki describes them as fantasies based on the victim's fears, and Betty can create anything.
• Memory Reading: Can see people's past. Used Frisk's genocide route memories to drain their Determination.
• Pyrokinesis: Due to her affinity with fear, she manipulates existing fire—she doesn't create her own fire, but controls, blocks, and reflects it. She did this against Toriel in Hate.
• Rhabdophobia (special attack): her signature move. It generates a negative shockwave, and all magical attacks within the area come under her control and turn pink. It has no cooldown, but consumes a lot of magic. When charged, her entire hair turns pink. This is how she stole the Gaster Blasters from Gaster.
MANNER OF ACTING AND SPEAKING — BETTY
• Emotional manipulation: uses the guilt of others. For example, after making Toriel hurt Asgore, she asks venomously: "Did you really hate him that much?"
How it acts:
• Invasion of personal space in a threatening manner — appears out of nowhere in front of the victim, as he did with the woman in Game Over Part 2.
• Classic tic: index finger on lips making a "shhh" motion, as in your first image. It's the signal that an illusion is about to begin.
• Openly mocks: calls Sans and Papyrus "court jester and his lackey"
• Prolongs the pain: doesn't kill on the first try, observes the reaction, with a crooked smile. The wiki says she "likes to severely inflict pain before killing."
With Akumu — the only "real" voice
It's the only time she's not acting.
• She speaks in a low, faster tone, almost complaining. In "Do or Die" she argues with him for eating the entire bottle of HATE and then apologizes.
• Confesses fear: explains that she is afraid of being possessed by HATE because it has its own plans.
• Body language changes — she sits next to him, pets him as if he were a pet, rests her forehead against him. The wiki says that the two "value each other as best and only friends."
Physical tics that give her away.
• Eyes: when using hallucination, she fixes her gaze until the victim's iris turns pink.
• Hair: When she is irritated or experiencing Rhabdophobia, the pink streaks in her hair stand on end and her entire hair turns pink — it's an involuntary visual warning.
• Hands: snaps fingers before summoning the spear, slowly spins the scythe to intimidate.
In summary, the language used is:
• Betty: "Wow! That was amazing! Can I come along?"
• Bête: "What a shame... I wanted to surprise her myself. But it's okay, it'll only hurt a little."
• Cornered beast: silence, crooked smile, and then "Game Over."
MANNER OF ACTING AND SPEAKING — BETTY
How does he speak:
• High-pitched, rapid tone, full of exclamation marks. The wiki records the classic "That was awesome!" after Frisk "saves" her from the fake car.
• Uses short, grateful sentences, asks naive questions: "Can I go with you?", "What is this?"
• A huge, quick smile to greet everyone
• Open body language: hands on chest, tilts head, gets too close like a child with no sense of personal space — that's exactly the pose in your second image.
• She sticks to Frisk, following him everywhere. The wiki says that "she always follows Frisk until her true identity is revealed."
• Maintains constant eye contact — not out of shyness, but because he needs it to plant illusions later.
Speech patterns:
• Cold condescension: asks rhetorical questions to humiliate. When Seth is dying, she asks "are you scared?" and adds "it only hurts a little."
• Mockery in combat: after Mettaton hits her, she gets up and says "it's okay, that hurt a little." She also taunts Mettaton, "you don't fight often, do you?"
• Sadistic impatience: when tired of playing, he announces: "I'm done playing with you"
• False pity: before killing, she asks in a pious voice, "Why do you strive so hard in a battle you cannot win?"
• Messianic speech: in the Game Over monologue she calmly explains that she is "just trying to prevent history from repeating itself, sacrificing a few hundred to save thousands," and concludes with the most iconic phrase:
PERSONALITY — BETTY
She refuses to use souls infected by HATE in My Promise, preferring to destroy everything rather than win that way. It's a twisted moral boundary: she's willing to commit genocide, but she's not willing to lose control.
8. High social intelligence, low tactical intelligence.
She's brilliant at reading people and creating personalized illusions, but she has poor long-term planning skills. She knows how to calculate how to get what she wants in the moment, but she can't put together a comprehensive strategy.
That's why she always needs manipulation to get out of situations where she would have easily won if she had taken it seriously from the beginning.
In short: Betty is a child-weapon who believes she is a savior, who finds pleasure in pain, who lies as easily as she breathes, who loves only her other half, and who dies because she needs others to fear her more than she needs to earn it.
PERSONALITY — BETTY
This vision comes directly from Agate, its creator. She sees herself as someone sacrificing a few hundred to save thousands. That's why the Game Over speech is so calm—she truly believes she's saving the future.
Throughout Season 2, she consistently underestimates her opponents. She believes her power surpasses all others and resolves everything through brute force. Furthermore, she has a morbid desire to be feared, so she delays the deaths of her enemies to exploit their fear.
This causes her to not fight with full force, to be easily surprised, and to lose to those who plan ahead. Clear examples:
• In the fight with Gaster in Do or Die, she plays around and almost dies.
• Against Toriel and Asgore in Hate, she shows off and takes an unexpected hit.
• In Love, she could have killed Frisk before Asriel arrived, but she was having fun.
She's not stupid — when she sees she's really going to lose, she backs down, like she did when HATE started to consume her in Love Part 1, or when everyone arrived to save Frisk in Love Part 2. In Animosity, she even tries to escape the Skeleton Trio, showing growth. But her arrogance returns as soon as she kills Sans, and then she makes the fatal mistake: she attacks Gaster thinking he underestimated her, when in reality it was she who underestimated him.
The two treat each other like best and only friends. The creator herself, Camila, explained that it's somewhat instinctive—they are halves of the same soul; if one dies, the other slowly withers away because it can't collect souls on its own. Even though it's a dependency, it's the closest thing to affection she has.
PERSONALITY — BETTY
That's exactly what you see in her second image, with her hand on her chest and that "hi, I'm harmless" look. This persona is calculated so that Frisk, Toriel, and even Gaster lower their guard. It only falls apart after Sans and Asriel see the AMD cameras and notice the suspicious behavior.
She doesn't kill quickly. She enjoys prolonging the process. She's known for trying to kill anyone in her path, but prefers to torture first. This is evident in three classic moments:
• It makes Undyne hallucinate and accidentally kill Alphys.
• Makes Jessica see a mutilated version of her dead daughter Alina while stealing the bottle of HATE
• manipulates Jessica into shooting Sans with the Anti-Magic Ray
She enjoys it; it's not just a strategy.
She uses people's guilt as a weapon because she knows everyone's past. She rubs Asriel's genocide as Flowey in his face, uses Alina's death against Jessica, and uses the six dead children against Toriel. It's not improvisation, it's cold, emotional reading.
Based on her conversation with Akumu and the song "Scared Of Me," she believes that humans and monsters living together is "like a time bomb waiting to explode." So she thinks she's just "speeding up the process."
HISTORY — BETTY
Sans, enraged by his brother's second death, climbs onto a Gaster Blaster and summons dozens. Betty becomes frightened—her hair turns completely pink—and uses Rhabdophobia to steal all the Blasters. Gaster protects Sans with his hands.
Sans overloads his Blasters and overcomes the shock, but the strain turns him to dust and causes him to die again.
Gaster then uses Polychromatism. With his giant hands, he rips Betty in half, stabs her with several purple spears, smashes her against the ground, and fires a giant Blaster. Even so, she still lives.
HISTORY — BETTY
When Frisk, Asgore, and Toriel arrive at the arena, she sends Frisk flying with a slap on the shield and throws Asgore and Toriel to fight against her own son, Asriel.
8. Game Over — The Speech
In Game Over Part 2, Betty attacks civilians protected by a barrier. She cuts off a woman's head, drains her soul, and asks a boy named Seth: "Are you scared? It only hurts a little."
She fights Mettaton NEO, throws him through the ceiling, and walks through his spotlight without feeling pain after HATE empowers her.
Chara appears. She tries to escape, but is stopped. That's when she delivers her most famous monologue: explaining that she's only trying to prevent history from repeating itself, "sacrificing a few hundred to save thousands." She says she has enough magic to destroy the entire city, that she will end the monsters and then dominate the humans. And she concludes: for her it's just the beginning, but for Chara it's Game Over.
9. Hate — Toriel and Asgore
Betty confronts Chara while Toriel traps Asriel in a wall of fire. She provokes Asgore to consider how many people would be alive if he had died.
She blocks Toriel's fire, reflects it with greater force, and at that moment Agate appears as a shadow behind her. She uses hallucination on Toriel to make her see the six human children she failed to save.
While Asgore tries to wake Toriel, Betty punches him in the chest. Then she pretends to be in trouble, causing Toriel to unleash a powerful fireball that hits Asgore squarely, leaving a huge scar on his chest and knocking him unconscious. The episode ends with Betty cruelly asking, "Did you hate him that much?"
10. Animosity — Death
Betty tries to kill Toriel with a hallucination of Asgore, but Gaster cuts her arm off. Outside, she mocks Sans and Papyrus, calling them "court jester and his lackey."
She tries to escape, throws projectiles, hits Papyrus. HATE tries to possess her, she screams and refuses.
HISTORY — BETTY
Jessica shoots her and Alphys activates the Nullifier. It doesn't work—the Nullifier only affects humans and monsters, and she's neither, it's a spell.
Alphys loses her shield and Betty impales her. Undyne enters, throws her spear, and Betty deflects the trajectory to hit Alphys' soul—Undyne unintentionally kills Alphys. Undyne becomes Undyne the Undying from so much Determination.
5. Love Part 1 — Undyne almost kills her
Betty faces Undyne. Undyne easily overpowers her. Betty uses Rhabdophobia on the spears, but Undyne creates more. Undyne pierces Betty with a giant spear that explodes the roof—the explosion disintegrates Betty's back and lower body, but Akumu survives because she absorbed the impact.
Akumu swallows the entire vial of HATE and passes the effect on to Betty. She revives, attacks again, but begins coughing up the black substance. The two escape.
In the hideout, Betty argues with Akumu for taking everything, then apologizes. She confesses that she's afraid of being possessed by HATE because he has his own plans.
6. Love Part 2 — Frisk LV19
Betty fights Frisk and uses memories from his genocide route to drain his Determination. Just as she's about to kill him, Asriel intervenes. Using Betty's illusions, Akumu kills Asriel and takes his soul.
Frisk levels up to LV19 in anger and almost destroys it. Desperate, Betty pulls Sans' soul out of the Akumu, fills it with HATE, and resurrects Sans as a puppet.
Papyrus blocks the attack and lovingly removes the HATE from Sans. The HATE shield breaks, everyone arrives, and Betty is forced to retreat with Kumu.
7. My Promise — The Fusion
Furious at having to constantly run away, Betty orders Akumu to show her the harvested souls. All are infected with HATE, except for Cam's. She orders them all destroyed, refusing to win using HATE—but keeps Asriel's soul, which is also infected with HATE.
She merges with Akumu using the spear and assumes her true form. She tells the resurrected Asriel that they will hunt down whoever hurt him.
HISTORY — BETTY
After the conference explodes because of the revelation about Asgore, a shadow creature (Betty herself) offers Jessica Grey a deal: if she does exactly what she says, she will help her get revenge on the monsters.
3. Dust — The mask falls off.
Betty goes with Frisk, Papyrus, Sans, and Asriel to see Mettaton's show. There, she creates a hallucination for Papyrus of a girl trapped in a crane. He presses the button to save her and drops steel plates—Sans catches them with telekinesis, and Jessica takes the opportunity to shoot the Anti-Magic Ray at him.
Sans and Asriel investigate the AMD cameras. They see the recording of the "near-accident" and realize there was no car. They also see her leaving Gaster's lab during the conference.
Betty enters the room and reveals who she is. She says she wanted to keep the secret longer. She makes Asriel hallucinate about Chara, he freezes, and she stabs him with the spear to steal his soul.
She throws the spear, Sans teleports in front to protect Asriel and takes the hit. Betty takes Sans' soul and feeds it to the Akumu — Sans turns to dust instantly.
Then she orders Jessica to hand over the vial of HATE. When Jessica refuses, Akumu hangs her against the wall. Betty creates an illusion of Alina, Jessica's dead daughter, all bruised and demonic, to psychologically torture her while she retrieves the vial.
4. Do or Die — The Harvest of Souls
Hidden with Akumu, Betty sees that the magic drained from Sans' soul is enough to begin the plan. She needs to drain magic from monsters and humans to create an army of Kumulings that will hunt souls.
She commands a Kumuling to kill Alphys. Gaster corners her in the Nullifier room. During the fight, her Rhabdophobia almost takes over.
A Kumuling takes Cam's soul (who sacrificed himself for his sister Lily) and Rhabdophobia fully charges it. With it, Betty takes control of Gaster's hands and Gaster Blasters and stabs him in the back.
HISTORY — BETTY
While she's away, she reverses her trait from Bravery to Fear so she can defeat Determination. When she returns, Copper and Amber welcome her back, but Agate has already changed.
She attacks Copper against his will. Amber tries to escape, but Agate blocks her with a magical blast and kills her with her spear. Then she kills Copper as well. The inversion damages Agate's own soul, and she begins to die.
Knowing she had little time left, Agate drags Amber's body into a cave and casts a dangerous spell. The spell alters her soul and Amber's body—the restored pink soul absorbs the particles from Amber's inverted body, and this combination creates the Bête Noire.
Therefore, the wiki describes her as "a construct of a spell and the physical embodiment of the SOUL Fear trait, created by Agate Lightvale solely to ensure that humans and monsters never lived in peace."
2. My Sunshine — The infiltration as "Betty"
A thousand years later, monsters emerge from the Underground and live in peace. Bête appears in Determino with Amber's appearance, using the alias Betty.
Frisk is heading to AMD HQ and sees Betty crossing the street without looking, about to be hit by a car. Frisk summons the shield and "saves" her. In reality, there was no car—it was an illusion of hers to gain confidence.
She behaves like a curious and energetic child. Frisk takes her to Gaster's lab, to Toriel's school, and to Grillby's. It's during this visit that a pink blob emerges from her—she introduces it as Akumu, her "overprotective friend."
At Grillby's, Sans and Asriel ask about her soul. She is forced to say that it's not a normal soul, it's pink. Gaster begins to investigate.
CLOTHING — BETTY
Light pink and lavender sweater, hot pink skirt with a ripped hem, lavender leggings, and brown boots.

• Cut: chin-length bob with straight bangs covering part of her forehead. She can wear her hair shorter and messier, but sometimes she leaves it a little longer with a pink flower clip on the right side.
• Power effect: when charging Rhabdophobia, the pink color intensifies and the entire hair turns completely pink.
Eyes
• Iris: bright, shocking pink — it's the color of your Fear soul.
• Sclera: Normal white like Betty's. With HATE, it darkens to gray/purple. In fused form, it becomes dark magenta.
• Pupil: normally round, becomes a vertical slit in the fused form.
