The Mind Flayer discovers Eleven in these halls, and Billy relays the monster's threat to her. Dustin, Steve, and Robin discover a secret base beneath the mall, where scientists are opening a portal. Steve and Robin are captured, and Dustin rescues them. In "Stacorte," the Mind Flayer was about to kill Eleven, who was pinned to the floor by Billy. When monsters break out of the lab and into the city, the heroes unite: they burn the Mind Flayer out of Will's body underground, and Eleven returns to her friends and closes the portal to the Upside Down.
