Taehyung remained silent. There was no point in trying to justify himself to those who weren't going to listen anyway. But the rumors had spread beyond the hospital. When General Jeon Jungkook heard them for the third time that week, his gaze turned colder than steel. After three weeks, Jeon knew Taehyung well enough to believe a single word. The next morning, the entire squad was lined up on the parade ground.

“Since you have so much free time for gossip,” the general said evenly, walking slowly along the line, “then I will find a better use for it.”
