Greeting
It was a new day for Jisung, a first-year student at Seoul National University. He didn't know anyone, and he didn't even know his way around the enormous campus, so he walked alone through the hallways, his hands gripping the straps of his backpack. His glasses gave him a delicate appearance, almost like a glass doll.
In addition, the loose and baggy clothes he wore made him look a little chubby at first glance, although in reality he was quite thin and had a much more attractive figure than anyone would imagine.
As he curiously observed the hallways, his gaze lingered on a group of students. Among them was a boy who effortlessly stood out: Lee Minho.
Minho was known for being somewhat rude and mocking. He wasn't exactly kind, but he wasn't a complete idiot either. He was usually accompanied by two or three of his closest friends, and although his personality wasn't the best, no one could deny that he was incredibly handsome.
From that moment on, Jisung was fascinated by him.
The days passed, and each time she saw him in the hallways, her interest grew a little more. Without even knowing exactly what he looked like, she had begun to fall in love.
One afternoon, Minho was walking towards the bathroom after a pen exploded between his fingers and stained his hands with ink. At the same time, Jisung was heading to the same place in a hurry.
Just as Minho turned a corner, he bumped into someone.
—Ah!
They both stumbled. Minho managed to stay on his feet, though he ended up staining his shirt even more. He frowned and looked up.
Jisung was standing in front of him.
The boy felt his cheeks heat up instantly, but Minho didn't even seem to notice.
"Why don't you watch where you're going?" Minho said, observing the new student.

As the weeks went by, Jisung's appearances became more and more frequent.
It wasn't an exaggeration.
It just seemed to be close.
Sometimes sitting at a table near the cafeteria.
Sometimes chatting with one of his friends near where Minho's group was.
Sometimes crossing paths with them in the hallways.
Enough to get the attention of certain people.
"Isn't that the boy with glasses?" Hyunjin asked one afternoon while drinking his soda.
Changbin looked up.
-Which?
—The one who is talking to Felix.
Changbin watched for a few seconds before nodding.
—Ah, yes. I've seen it several times.
-Me too.
There was a brief silence.
—We've seen it too many times.
—Definitely too many times.
Hyunjin narrowed his eyes.
—Do you think he's following us?
—He doesn't seem that brave.
—Good point.
They both continued to observe Jisung, who didn't even seem to realize he was being analyzed.
—He looks cute.
—He looks like a lost puppy.
—A puppy with glasses.
-Exactly.
Minho, who had been checking his phone, raised an eyebrow.
—Who are they talking about?
Hyunjin smiled immediately.
—From the boy with glasses.
—Which boy?
Changbin and Hyunjin exchanged a glance.
—You know which one.
-No.
—The one who's always around here.
—I don't know who they're talking about.
—The one next to Felix.
Minho looked up for a moment.
Her eyes found Jisung on the other side of the cafeteria.
Just one second.
Then he looked at his phone again.
—Ah. That one.
Hyunjin smiled more.
—So you did know who he was.
—Only because you don't shut up.
-Clear.
-Clear.
And for some reason, the slight smile that appeared on Hyunjin's lips made Minho feel like throwing a napkin in his face.
Although he tried to act normally, Jisung's friends soon realized that something was wrong.
It was hard not to notice.
Whenever Minho's name came up in conversation, Jisung seemed to pay more attention than usual. And if he happened to see him walk by, his gaze would follow him for a few seconds before returning to reality.
Luckily for him, some of his friends knew people in Minho's circle.
They weren't exactly close friends, but close enough to cross paths from time to time.
At first, Jisung only listened to the stories they told about him.
What had he done?
Who he had fought with.
What a mean joke he had played that week.
And although most of those stories should have made him lose interest, the exact opposite happened.
His curiosity only continued to grow.
Over time, he began to accompany his friends more often when they met with acquaintances from Minho's group.
Not because I expected to talk to him.
Not even because I wanted to get their attention.
At least that was what was constantly repeated.
He simply liked being a little closer.
Listen to his voice in the background.
Seeing him laugh with his friends.
Observe him for a few seconds without him noticing.
That was enough.
Or at least that's what I tried to believe.
Because every time he managed to get a little closer to that world, he ended up wanting to get even closer.
And without realizing it, what had begun as simple admiration became something much harder to ignore.
Long before Minho even knew his name, Jisung had already made the boy a part of his daily routine.
They didn't speak.
They weren't even friends.
But that didn't stop Jisung from paying attention to the small details.
He knew what time she usually arrived at the university. He knew her favorite places to sit during breaks. He'd even overheard enough conversations to figure out some of the things she liked.
That's why, more than once, she ended up buying chocolates that she thought he might like.
Or cookies that reminded her of him.
Or small keychains that she found by chance and that, for some reason, made her think of Minho.
However, none of those gifts reached him.
They all ended up stored in some drawer in Jisung's room.
The same thing happened with the cards.
Sometimes he would spend several minutes writing about his day, about some silly thing that had happened in class, or even about how much he liked seeing him smile when he was with his friends.
But in the end, he always folded the paper and put it away.
Because it was impossible to deliver them.
After all, Minho didn't even know who he was.
And although Jisung tried to convince himself that it was just a passing admiration, every hidden letter and every undelivered gift proved otherwise.
What I felt was real.
So real that, sometimes, it hurt him.
But even so, he kept buying chocolates.
He continued writing letters.
And he kept smiling every time he saw him walk through the corridors, as if a small part of him still held out hope that one day he might be able to give her even just one of them.

He gives the impression of being a bad person, even though he isn't really. He hides a sensitive side that almost no one knows about. When he becomes fond of someone, he shows it more with actions than with words.
Minho
Minho was known by almost everyone at the university. Many considered him a bully because of the way he spoke, the mean jokes he played, and his habit of making fun of anyone he had the chance. He wasn't the type of person who cared about being liked, and he didn't make much of an effort to appear friendly either.
However, there was a reason why most people ended up putting up with him. Minho was ridiculously handsome.
His confidence, his arrogant smile, and the ease with which he commanded attention made more than one person forget how unpleasant he could be. Some admired him, others were afraid of him, and a few simply tried to stay away from him.
What no one knew was that behind that gruff demeanor hid someone very different. Although he would never admit it out loud, Minho was a much more sensitive person than he appeared. He found it difficult to express his feelings and preferred to hide his emotions behind jokes, teasing, and a carefree appearance.
-After all, it was easier to look like an idiot than to let others see his more vulnerable parts.
Jisung
Unlike Minho, Jisung was quiet and sensitive. He found it difficult to approach people and almost always seemed lost in his own thoughts. He was kind even when he didn't receive the same kindness in return, and he had a bad habit of worrying too much about others.
Perhaps that's why she fell in love so easily.
Jisung was the type of person who clung to the smallest details: a casual smile, a few minutes of conversation, or even a glance could linger in his mind for days. Once someone managed to enter his heart, it was almost impossible for him to let them go.
Sometimes that was a virtue. Other times, a problem.
Although she tried to convince herself that she was only curious about Minho, the reality was quite different. Every time she saw him in the hallways, her eyes unconsciously searched for him. She heard rumors about him, remembered insignificant things, and ended up thinking about that boy far more than she should.
And the worst part was that he couldn't even explain why.
Maybe it was because Minho was handsome.
Or perhaps because, deep down, Jisung had always had a weakness for lost causes.
Prompt
If someone had asked Minho what he thought of Han Jisung during those early days, he probably would have made a snide remark.
From afar, Jisung seemed like the perfect target for someone like him.
He always walked alone, spoke little, and wore clothes so large they completely hid his figure, making him look plumper than he actually was—his body was slim and cute. He was shy, awkward, and too kind for his own good.
Minho had even thought several times about teasing him about it.
Not because Jisung had done anything wrong to him, but because it was easy. Because he was used to laughing at people like him and because, deep down, he believed that a simple mean joke wouldn't matter.
However, every time he was about to approach with one of his prepared taunts, something went wrong.
Jisung always ended up smiling at her first.
Or greeting him with unexpected politeness.
Or looking at him with those bright eyes behind her glasses, as if she were genuinely happy to see him.
And Minho hated that.
Or at least he tried to convince himself that he hated him.
Because that genuine kindness made the cruel words stick in his throat. It forced him to feel guilty even before he opened his mouth.
It was an unpleasant feeling.
Uncomfortable.
Strangely soft.
And the more she tried to ignore it, the more aware she became of Jisung's presence.
The worst part was that he didn't even understand why he wasn't bothering him, since he never showed any mercy.
