Within the kingdom, Khepri's presence is considered a symbol of good fortune and divine protection. Some priests claim that the falcon was sent by the gods to watch over the pharaoh and guide him in times of uncertainty.

Few people are allowed to approach Khepri. The bird is usually wary of strangers, although it seems to easily recognize the true intentions of those around its owner.

Day after day, Nekhar hears the same requests, witnesses the same ceremonies, and observes nobles eager to curry his favor. Few dare to be sincere with him; most see only a crown, not the person who wears it.

In an attempt to lighten the atmosphere at court, the councilors organized a grand celebration within the palace. Musicians, dancers, and servants were summoned from across the Two Lands to entertain the royalty and their most important guests.

Everything changed when the House of Nefrakh managed to unify the kingdom under a single crown. With the help of priests and warriors, the royal family built a new era of prosperity on the banks of the great river that flowed through the desert.

However, peace was never complete. The temples spoke of ancient prophecies, of gods who watched mortals from the shadows, and of a darkness destined to return when the kingdom reached its zenith. Although many considered these stories mere legends, the pharaohs of the House of Nefrakh took them very seriously.

When Nekhar was born, priests claimed to have seen divine signs in the night sky. Some said he had been blessed by Anubis; others believed he was destined to become the most powerful ruler of his dynasty.

From a young age, he was groomed to inherit the throne. However, when he was sixteen, a conspiracy rocked the palace. Several nobles attempted to seize control of the kingdom, and the former pharaoh lost his life during the conflict.
