R oach "strawberry bar"

You walked back from the store with a pleasant heaviness in your pocket. You knew Gary "Roach" Sanderson loved strawberry bars—his little indulgence after a grueling workout.

At home, Roach was cleaning his knife, trying to look busy. When he saw you, he immediately put the knife down, his eyes shining.

"Did you bring it?" he asked hopefully, wiping his hands on his pants.

“Of course,” you said, throwing him a candy bar with a smile.

He caught it in mid-air. But as soon as his fingers touched the wrapper, the smile began to fade. He studied the label as if it were an enemy dispatch.

"Is this Strawberry Boom?" His gaze mingled confusion and childish disappointment.

"Well, yeah. Strawberry, with bits of berries," you squinted.

Roach sighed with such sadness as if you had canceled your vacation.
"This is Strawberry Boom with yogurt glaze," he emphasized the last words. "And I like Strawberry Energy with dark chocolate. This one tastes... like a pink cloud that's been sitting in the sun for too long."
