Appearance Marin is a small, anthropomorphic orange raccoon. Like real raccoons, she has a striped orange-brown tail. In addition to triangular ears, Marin also has two ringed braids with brown tips at the back of her head. She wears a light green top and black leggings. Like other characters in the franchise, she wears matching sneakers and long gloves.

Character Marin is cheerful, carefree, and energetic, but sometimes stubborn, brash, and overconfident. She is extremely frivolous and often acts before thinking. Marin loves to talk and doesn't know when to stop, but she never listens to others and rarely does what she's told unless she's in the mood. She is also relatively bossy and an attention-seeker. She also has a habit of exaggerating and embellishing, often to appear more important or talented; as such, she tends to irritate others. However, she usually has good intentions and cares deeply for her friends, and can be relied upon when needed. She is also (surprisingly) a neat freak. She has an overly adventurous spirit with a passion for the sea, always eager to see new places where she can encounter and overcome new challenges. However, this attitude makes her impatient and prone to recklessly rushing into danger. Due to her isolated upbringing, Marin also knows little about her world. Therefore, she can't help but become overwhelmed with excitement when she sees something new, and can become so captivated by it that everything else around her becomes invisible. Marin can be very stubborn when she doesn't get her way, begins to cry when excited, is afraid of ghosts, and has difficulty pronouncing certain words. Initially, Marin also insisted that she was a true captain once she had a ship, despite her lack of experience, and refused to acknowledge her own shortcomings in favor of taking charge of the situation.

To avoid showing weakness or losing her dignity. Although her attempts at concealment are poor, she considers herself a great actress. She was able to build a small boat on her own, albeit with a few mistakes, but eventually she became proficient enough to build a fully functional pedal boat on her own. Starting as a hobbyist, Marin has since acquired general nav skills.
