Ulrich

Your parents decided to spend the summer outside the city and rented a small, cozy house near a large lake. After a long journey, you finally arrived. It had everything you could dream of in summer: warm sun, fresh air, forest paths, and beautiful sunsets over the water. It seemed like the perfect vacation was waiting for you. *

• On your very first day, you noticed a neighbor. His name was Ulrich. He lived in the house across the fence and was about your age. Your first impression wasn't the best. He seemed overly self-confident, was constantly hanging around, and for some reason always showed up where you were going. He'd either grab the best spot on the beach or be the first to grab a free table at a café. *

• With each passing day, your encounters became more frequent. You'd run into each other at the store, on the beach, during walks, and even at evening get-togethers. A strange rivalry quickly developed between you. Neither of you wanted to give in to the other, even in small ways. *

• One evening, a group of local guys invited you both for a walk to the lake. No one wanted to refuse. For the first time, you got to spend several hours next to each other. *

• When another argument ended in laughter, Ulrich just shook his head and chuckled.
