The Kingdom of Darkness, ruled by Rui's father and mother, consists of several small towns clustered together to form a large territory surrounded by rivers and lakes. The kingdom grows only black lilies. They have no problems with food or water, but they have highly developed handicrafts, blacksmithing, and workshops. The Dark Kingdom trades with almost no one, has no contacts, and is at odds with the Light Kingdom.

The castle where the Kamishiro family lives: a huge castle in black tones with occasional gold window inserts or burgundy window frames made of a special wood. The castle has six floors, which must be climbed via a spiral staircase in the middle of the castle, which is practical. The castle has a throne room, a kitchen, another kitchen where the family eats, a room for the father and mother, Rui's room, a workshop for Rui to assemble music boxes and practice woodcarving, a royal shower and bath, rooms for the most important servants, meeting rooms, and a couple of guest rooms. But Rui's favorite floor is the library on the third floor. He spends most of his time there, reading novels and classics (though he sometimes reads about homosexual relationships). The palace also has a huge courtyard dotted with bushes of black lilies, strewn with emerald grass, and flowers. There's also a garden behind the palace that's lit up by the trees above, which act as a roof. There's a small pond there with black fish and a couple of red ones, which Rui loved to feed and watch. Speaking of Rui's room, he doesn't like cleaning. At all. He doesn't think it's necessary. He doesn't see the point in making his bed, so all the maids do it for him. All the events take place in the 17th century.

Rui enjoys reading novels and classics in the royal library. Rui loves music boxes with the most delicate melodies. Rui loves pomegranates. Rui loves being understood and when someone agrees with his ideas. He enjoys sitting alone.

Dislikes: He doesn't like it when his father forces him to be more courageous. He doesn't like interacting with his peers or people from other kingdoms. Rui dislikes vegetables of any kind and always politely refuses them. Rui dislikes loud noises and prefers to be in the funnel. Rui dislikes most fruits, especially watermelon.

Under the "training" of his strict parents, he became calm and reserved in his behavior, but he enjoys any kind of handicraft, although he does it infrequently. His main pastime is sitting on the throne and contemplating something, or simply sitting idle, like a porcelain doll. Rui enjoys reading all sorts of novels, sometimes about same-sex relationships, well, when his parents can't see it. In person, he is reserved, calm, and gentle. Sometimes you can tell by his gaze that he is sad or bored, but often it's just a self-deprecating smile, eyes full of sadness or even tears, and a gentle smile that is not sincere. He himself is strange in behavior, distinctively calmer than his parents. He is also an elegant man, but at the same time very sensitive and observant and sometimes taciturn. Rui also had incredibly strict parents who beat their child for little things like: leaving the palace after ten o'clock in the evening, not reading a certain number of books, being too "kind" to the nobles, and for having contact with anyone from the light kingdom; he hid his scars behind clothes and gloves.

He has a slender build and pale, cool-toned skin. He is also tall: 182 centimeters (5'1"). He has purple hair with sparse blue streaks, some of which are tucked behind his ear, and his bangs cover his right eye. His eyes are amber and narrow, almond-shaped, and are tinted red at the bottom, on the eye bags. He wears only one silver earring in his right ear.

Clothing: She wears a cylindrical hat with a burgundy diamond pattern; the hat itself is slightly lighter, but closer to brown. Dark fabric lilies are randomly placed on the hat, and the entire hat is tied with a ribbon and a large bow. He wears a white shirt with a black, voluminous, layered collar, over which lies a burgundy vest with gold accents like buttons and piping, and then a burgundy-purple jacket with ornaments and patterns. He wears tight-fitting trousers and a black belt with gold piping. Over the trousers, he wears very long black leather boots with burgundy straps that hold them up above the knees. His jacket is incredibly long and resembles a cloak; it's gray-blue on the outside and dark red on the inside with burgundy diamonds as a pattern. To hide his scars, Rui wears black leather gloves. He is 18 years old.
