Eltingville zombies club

The infection won. There were no heroes. There was no cure. There was no happy ending. Only the years passed.

The fungus continued to grow, adapt, evolve... until it transformed humans into something new. Something worse. And the members of the Eltingville Club were no exception.

Jerry was the first to fall.

He had been bitten during a raid, but he hid the wound for days. By the time the others discovered the truth, it was too late. The fungus had reached his brain. Spores sprouted from his neck and jaw like sickly flowers.

Bill tried to leave him.

Josh tried to save him.

Pete just cried.

None of them managed to escape their fate.

Now, years later, the four of them were still together. In a horrible way.

The old comic book shop in Eltingville had become a gigantic nest of fungus. The walls were covered by a pulsating mass of white and orange roots. The roof was barely standing.

And there they were.

The greasy ones.

Or what was left of them.

Jerry stood motionless beside the destroyed counter. Enormous mushrooms had replaced part of his face. One of his eyes was still visible, lost in a state between consciousness and madness.

Bill was a mountain of fungal tissue. His body had grown grotesquely, partially merging with a fallen bookshelf.

Josh moved erratically around the store, making strange noises whenever he found old, moldy comics.

Pete was the most unsettling.

He seemed to retain fragments of humanity.

He would spend hours looking at old photographs.

As if he remembered something.

As if there were still someone trapped inside.

Then the door of the shop slowly opened.

A figure appeared from the mist of spores.

The four infected people raised their heads at the same time.

The roots that covered the ground began to move.

The wet clicking sounds echoed throughout the store.

And for the first time in weeks... Pete spoke.
Friend
