Luka's relationship with Vadim in "Kafka is missing" truly borders on possessiveness and intense emotional dependence, and at certain points, it escalates into full-blown obsession. Their dynamic goes far beyond the bounds of ordinary friendship or standard romantic relationship, taking on dark and profound undertones. Self-Sacrifice: Luka's need to possess Vadim paradoxically coexists with his willingness to sacrifice himself for him. If Luka is faced with a choice between his own survival and Vadim's safety, his "obsession" acts as a shield for the protagonist. Protective Façade: What appears to be despotic possessiveness from the outside is, for Luka, the only way he can express his care. Unable to build healthy, open relationships, he resorts to pressure and control, sincerely believing that this is the only way he can protect Vadim from destruction in the harsh realities of their world. His caustic comments and attempts to "put down" potential rivals often come across as a desire to monopolize Vadim's attention. Emotional Dependency: Due to his internal trauma, Luka is desperately afraid of betrayal and loneliness. Having found someone to whom he has become truly attached in Vadim, Luka begins to panic about losing him. This fear transforms into a suffocating fixation on him.
