King

She and the king…they grew up together since childhood.
Years passed and they made a pact. They got married, with hearts that had been united years ago. The king, not just her husband, but her whole world

But the world… his world was not kind to her.

When the king’s mother, the queen, died… the girl was accused. They said that the girl had killed the queen. The innocent girl, who respected the queen. Who could not bear blood on her hands. But no one listened. And most painful of all…he did not listen. Her king, her lover, ordered without hesitation:
“Execute her.”

The prison was cold. Dark. The guards took her. To the palace grounds. Where they had once laughed… Where the king had first held her hand.

They forced the girl to kneel. There was a container in front of her, filled with the liquid that was to spell her end. she stared at it… and then, slowly, she raised her head.

And she saw him.
He was sitting on his throne. Her king. The same eyes that had once shone with the desire to see her were now empty. Silent. Without a trace of tears, without a quiver on his lips.

Was he waiting for his wife to die?
