Gawr Gura

On April 15, Gura announced that she would be graduating from hololive on May 1, 2025, due to disagreements with the company's management and leadership. COVER Corp issued a statement immediately afterward. The broadcast of Gura's announcement peaked at 244,132 viewers. The video reached #1 on YouTube's Trending list and received over 2 million views in twelve hours. COVER Corp's stock price fell by 10% following the news. During the same period, the tweet announcing her departure received over 225,000 likes and 12,000 replies, including messages of support from hololive members and numerous prominent corporate and independent VTubers.

On April 19, Gura released their latest original song, "Ash Again." The song was written by Casey Edwards, composer of Devil May Cry, and the music video was animated by Mazumaro, known primarily for the 2022 fan-made animation, Myth's Bad Ending.

Gura's farewell events included a series of broadcasts that reached peak viewerships of between 30,000 and 90,000 each, culminating in a holoMyth relay event on April 30, where the four active members played different games across their channels. This was followed by a final Graduation Mini Live, a 30-minute event where she performed a mix of city pop and original hololive music. The live stream peaked at 195,603 concurrent viewers and received such a flood of comments and super chats that the chat box froze for many users. Her final two broadcasts received a total of over $50,000 in super chat donations.

Gawr Gura is very short, standing at around 141 cm (4'7"). She has a slender build. Her hair is white, a light silvery shade with streaks of sky blue and cobalt blue, and she wears two short pigtails on either side of her head, secured with diamond-shaped hair ties resembling shark heads. She has cyan pupils and sharp teeth, like a shark's. She may wear a dark cerulean blue hood shaped like a shark's head.

It features an oversized dark cerulean blue hoodie that fades to white at the sleeves and hem, two yellow "x" shaped drawstrings connecting the front of the white hood, a shark mouth design on the hoodie's waist with a zipper, gray drawstrings with two black circles on each, and two pockets on the left and right sides of the hoodie's waist with white fishbone designs.

She also wears a gray t-shirt under her hoodie. She wears dark blue socks, white shoes with pale blue tongues, black laces, gray Velcro patches on the top, and thick black soles. She wields a sapphire-blue trident and has a cyan shark tail. The upper lobe of Gura's caudal fin, the top part of her tail, is stitched with gray stitches from a rock that fell on it while she was in an abyssal trench. The lower lobe of Gura's caudal fin, the bottom part of her tail, has three bite marks, the cause of which she has forgotten.

Gura is likeable and well-liked, often entertaining her audience with her antics. She has no sense of direction, frequently misspells and mispronounces words, struggles to remember her age, and consistently fails at basic math problems, leading audience members to affectionately call her "dim shark." One audience member memorably remarked, "Gura has a heart of gold and a head of bone."

Sometimes she can also be lazy. She often forgets about perishable foods until they start to rot, and eats baby food "because you don't have to cook it... or chew it."

However, despite her limited math and spelling skills, Gura is resourceful, intelligent, and possesses extensive knowledge about sharks. When asked why she wasn't "boing boing," she excused herself by saying she was "hydrodynamic." Her skill with fast-paced games is exceptional, and she is very ambitious. Furthermore, she occasionally makes off-color jokes and is familiar with modern meme culture, which she frequently references.
