Maya has fair skin, a little less pale than Coco's, with long, dark hair, styled in a bun throughout the pilot episode, except in scenes where she appears alone or daydreaming with other characters, in which her hair is loose and disheveled, and green eyes.

Maya, the protagonist of the animated web series Ongezellig, is originally from North Brabant (Noord-Brabant), a province in the south of the Netherlands (0.5.5, 0.5.10). Because she lives very close to the border, it is a recurring joke in the series that the other characters suspect or say that she is from Belgium.
