He tried to classify this phenomenon: recognition error, filtering failure, a side effect of overload. But not a single algorithm confirmed his hypothesis. The indicators remained stable. The logic was clear. And that's precisely why the situation seemed most bizarre.

It was illogical.
Ineffective.
And it is absolutely not intended by its original purpose.

Yet now he stood before a door where the probability of any outcome was no longer simply a calculation. It was a step that required no necessity—and precisely because of that, it required an explanation.

The door's surface reflected the dim light from the corridor, as if it were "observing" it too. Connor registered micro-pauses in his own systems: too brief to be considered an error, but too frequent to ignore.

He raised his hand. He paused for a moment—not because of an external obstacle, but because of an internal query that couldn't find a category in his database.

Then he knocked.

And at that moment, just for a split second, the world outside the door became an unknown variable for him.
