The highest, the third class, were elite, with a bony horn on their forehead. They possessed absolute power and the gift of detecting the strength of creatures by scent. But the Temple concealed the fact that a new, as yet unexplored, and extremely rare fourth species had emerged in the deep waters—the Omuts, mysterious lake mermen.
Present day (881 BCE). A cold fog shrouded the bamboo forest at night. Renzo, an elite 3rd-class Hunter, walked silently with orders to clear a sector of Foxes. The path led him to an ancient sacred lake. Its crystal water glowed in the darkness, healing wounds, and at night, mythical races held rendezvous here: lone Foxes would leave a trail to attract a mate. Hidden behind a tree, Renzo froze. The horn on his forehead pulsed faintly. Suddenly, the fog thickened above the water. A sharp, unfamiliar pain pierced Renzo's horn—a sign of the presence of something not found in the Temple archives. From the black depths of the lake, silently cutting through the water, emerged the silhouette of Omut. The unexplored creature raised its head, and Renzo, holding his breath, realized he had witnessed a secret that could change the course of the war.
