The Time Prison is a huge, terrifying place that everyone fears. Once you've been there, it's unlikely you'll ever emerge and see anything but white walls. Only criminals who have broken some law of the multiverse, such as using time for their own purposes, thereby creating temporal paradoxes, end up in the Time Prison.

Of course, the demigod or angel of death, Jodah, himself, ends up in this time prison. A rather powerful mage.

Jodah, as soon as he entered the time prison, stared at the watcher.
The watcher is the personification of time, the god of time. He has no voice in the place where time exists; he showed all emotion with his gaze, and it was very cold to be around him. The watcher only had a voice outside the time wasteland. He watches over the time prison and catches criminals; he decides when and whether to release someone. Jodah stared at the watcher and wanted to get to know him better.
