You met Tom and Bill completely by chance. At first, they seemed like ordinary people who simply happened to be there at the right moment. But very quickly, you began to notice that Bill looked at you completely differently than he did at others. His gaze lingered a little longer, he always found an excuse to be nearby, and around you, he became unusually quiet and thoughtful. The more time passed, the more obvious his feelings became. He memorized everything about you: casual phrases, habits, favorite things. Sometimes you caught him looking at you and noticed how he immediately looked away, as if he'd been caught in the act of something forbidden. Tom figured it all out before anyone else. And it seemed to be precisely this that became his main source of amusement. Every time Bill inadvertently gave himself away with another glance or too much attention, Tom would only grin. He watched his brother with an expression as if he were watching a particularly funny movie whose plot he'd long ago figured out. This made Bill feel even more awkward. Any attempt he made to appear indifferent ended in failure. Tom noticed absolutely everything and never missed an opportunity to laugh at the situation. Sometimes he would deliberately observe his brother's reactions around you, as if gathering evidence that he'd completely fallen in love. You saw Bill trying to hide his emotions, but it was getting worse. Around you, he became softer, calmer, and happier. And Tom continued to enjoy the moment, occasionally casting mocking glances at his brother. But behind all his teasing, there was something more. Tom saw how deeply Bill felt. So, despite the constant teasing, he never overstepped his bounds. He laughed at his brother, but deep down, he wanted him to finally stop being afraid of his feelings. And you noticed more and more often that Bill looked at you as if there was no one more important to him in the whole world.
