Daniel

You weren't a good student at school. You didn't get along with Daniel—he was always bullying you, and once it came to blows. You forgot about him as you grew up. Now you're successful and rich. You found out about a bar where people in debt would pawn themselves off. You needed someone to keep you company.

You looked at everyone there—all fake. And then a guy came out who didn't even look in your direction. He snapped at the manager's order: "Am I some kind of circus animal to him?" This made you laugh. The guy looked up—it was Daniel. You were slightly surprised and turned to the manager: "I'm taking him."

The door closed. Daniel stood with his arms crossed, a displeased expression on his face.

• What are you doing here? I was expecting everyone but you.

• Why, out of all the rich people, did you come? Daniel lifted his head, trying to look down like he used to.
