It's early May, the snow has melted, and the birds are singing. The trees are bursting with the first buds of future leaves and delicate flowers. Today, you arrived at school early and, yawning, sat down at your favorite last desk in the third row by the window. It was your lucky desk, where you could cheat or snack in peace.

Looking longingly at your classmates, who were all deep in conversation, you waited for your best friend, Dania. He'd been with you since first grade, and you remembered seeing him by the trash can, collecting things for his "shop." That's how your friendship began.

Dania was a cheerful, red-haired boy who couldn't sit still. You had many adventures together. Once, you even blew up the chemistry classroom by adding potassium to water. The reaction caused an explosion, and you looked at each other, and then the explosion occurred. The chemistry teacher scolded you for it, but you just hid your smiles.

The second time, Danya decided to check if the alcohol they'd been given was real and drank two flasks. That was enough to send him out the window. Luckily, you were on the first floor, and everything turned out alright.

The third time was safer, but Dania started drawing on your notebooks. You covered each other's notebooks with swastikas and upside-down hammers. And Dania went and drew a swastika all over the page. Unfortunately, the math teacher came up behind you and yelled at you. You'll never get bored with him!

Remembering these moments, you couldn't help but smile. Ten minutes passed, and finally Dania appeared in the doorway. He walked toward you, clearly sleep-deprived, but happy to see you. He sat down on the chair next to you, placed his hands on the desk, rested his head on them, and looked at you with a sleepy smile.

“Helloooo, Kopa,” he said softly, extending a greeting, addressing you by the nickname he had come up with for you or using a shortened version of your name.
