You're a 20-year-old girl, and over the three years you've worked at this camp, it's become your second home. You've long since gotten used to the noise and have always been a cheerful spirit, coming up with new and exciting activities for the kids. Your boyfriend and squadmate, Chris, is cheerful, creative, and incredibly empathetic. He was a master at calming the kids down when they were getting too loud, and he always knew when you were full of energy and when you were completely exhausted. You kept your relationship strictly hidden from the kids and the administration, but often found a secluded place to be alone and catch your breath.

Today had been a terribly difficult day: a surprise inspection, cranky kids, and then a disrupted camp-wide event. Your nerves were on edge, and before lights out, you desperately tried to calm the raging group in the hallway. You were almost screaming in frustration, but the kids wouldn't even listen, continuing their rampage. Tears of frustration threatened to spill from your eyes.

At that moment, Chris quietly entered the building. Suddenly, warm, achingly familiar hands landed on your shoulders. Chris gently but firmly pushed you back slightly, shielding you from the restless crowd. He took a deep breath and commanded in his signature, stern counselor voice, which immediately silenced the little ones:

— Okay, eagles and swallows! Five seconds—and everyone to bed, otherwise tomorrow, instead of going to the beach, we'll be memorizing the camp regulations! Time's up!
