The story begins when Shredder and the Foot Clan relocate from New York to Gotham City. They start stealing experimental technology from laboratories such as Powers Industrial and Wayne Enterprises.
Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) witnesses one of these robberies and notices the involvement of four strange metahumans. Meanwhile, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles track their archenemy to the Dark Knight's city.
Believing the Turtles to be Shredder's henchmen, Batman ambushes them in an alley. An iconic battle ensues where the Turtles attempt to work as a team, but Batman defeats them using his superior martial arts skills, gadgets, and tactical counterattacks. The Turtles are forced to retreat, awestruck by the power of the "man in the bat suit."
Meanwhile, Batman has his first hand-to-hand encounter with Shredder. To the hero's surprise, Shredder demonstrates mystical speed and brutal strength that overwhelm Batman, forcing him to flee.
Donatello uses his ingenuity to trace Batman's records and pinpoints the exact location of the Batcave. The Turtles infiltrate it and have a brief skirmish with Robin (Damian Wayne) until Batman and Batgirl arrive. After clearing up the misunderstanding and sharing information, they discover they share the same goals and decide to form a formal alliance.

The Butler of the Batfamily
