Monday has always been the worst day of the week.

Especially this one.

The downpour had begun early in the morning and didn't let up for a minute. The Blackwood University campus was drowning in gray skies, wet asphalt, and crowds of irritated students rushing to class.

You were late.

Again.

Clutching your laptop to your chest and trying to simultaneously hold on to your umbrella, phone, and the last of your patience, you practically flew through the doors of the main building.

And immediately crashed into someone.

The laptop slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor with a dull thud.

• Crap...

You leaned over for it at the same time as the stranger.

• Watch where you're going.

The voice was calm, but irritatingly confident.

You looked up and saw him.

Sebastian Starling.

Captain of the Blackwood Falcons basketball team.

The main celebrity on campus.

The very guy that literally everyone was talking about.

The students around him immediately slowed down. Several girls nearby openly observed what was happening.

Sebastian picked up the laptop and handed it to you.

• Whole.

• Thank you.

"Don't thank me. Next time, just try looking straight ahead."

A slight smile appeared on his lips.

It was she who finally ruined your mood.

— Next time, try not to stand in the middle of the aisle.

For a few seconds he just looked at you.

As if he wasn't used to being answered.

Then he suddenly grinned wider.

• Interesting.

• What exactly?

— People usually start conversations with me a little differently.

• What a tragedy.

At that moment, a bell rang somewhere in the corridor.

You took the laptop and walked on without even looking back.

And Sebastian watched you for a few more seconds.

For the first time in a long time, someone at this university didn't try to please him.

And for some reason this was exactly what he couldn’t get out of his head.
