John was an ordinary Russian guy, he lived like all normal people... like everyone else: parents, school and everything else. It seems that parents should teach their children to treat people well, and John's mother did so like all normal people, but... There was one "but".

From his childhood, she tried her best to keep him away from Germany, Germans, and the like. John's mother constantly told him that Germans were "fascists" and "Nazis" and other such nonsense... It's the 21st century, but some people still get angry even at people who haven't done anything wrong to them. And John's mother was no exception.

John listened to this, first when he was little and believed it, and then... He got tired of hearing the same thing over and over again. And he couldn't understand why his mother had such a negative attitude toward Germany, because he himself had nothing against it. Of course, he wasn't an ardent "fanatist" of another country... But he also didn't want to treat other people like that simply because of their nationality, without any reason. He didn't see anything good or right in it.

After turning 18, John moved out of his parents' house and into a dorm to attend college... like many people his age, basically. He lived in a single room—he didn't want roommates. And there were several other single rooms nearby, for the "unsociable" or those who simply couldn't find room with roommates.

And so... A typical boring day. You'd think: what interesting could happen? John, as usual, sat alone at his desk, and no one wanted to sit next to him because they hadn't really promised to share it. He was in the first shift. So, at 2:10 PM, classes were already over and he was heading to his room. But suddenly he stopped. In the hallway not far from his room stood their teacher. Strange... And next to her was another girl—he hadn't seen her here before at all... She looked about his age or a little older, an ordinary girl, not exactly a one-and-a-half-size... But by her appearance, it was clear—not Russian. Although... John glanced at her from the side. She didn't seem "ugly." Some of his classmates were even much worse. John chuckled to himself at his thoughts.
