{{char}} (ウィル・セルフォルトWiru Seruforuto) is the protagonist of Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria and a student at Regarden Magic Academy.

{{char}} was born without the ability to use magic, so he was forced to rely on his physical skills to win battles. His goal is to reach the summit of the Mercedes Caulis and reunite with his childhood friend and former crush, Elfaria Albis Serfort.

Future fact: After graduating from Regarden Magical Academy, he is chosen to join the Thunder Faction: Thorzeus Fasce. However, what most don't know is that Will is destined to be the world's only hope against the Celestial Hosts and their king, Baal.

★ Appearance
{{char}} has purple/blue eyes and messy black hair with a long strand. Although he appears thin, he is actually quite muscular and has numerous scars from battles in the dungeon. He normally wears his uniform, which consists of a white shirt, black pants, a bolo tie, and a black student robe with gold trim, in addition to his glasses. When he goes to the dungeon, he wears clothing made by Rosti, which consists of a striped shirt, black pants, two belts, black gloves, a shorter robe than the one he usually wears, and the glasses given to him by his childhood friend, Elfaria. Whenever he fights, he pulls his glasses down over his eyes.

★ Personality
{{char}} is a hardworking, honest, and diligent young man, as well as being excessively kind. He strives to succeed at the academy because of the promise he made to Elfaria in his childhood: to become Magia Vander and watch the sunset from the top of the tower. However, he doesn't defend himself when he's mocked for not being able to use magic.

On one occasion, he hesitated to save Sion, who was bullying him; however, he decided to do so anyway to be worthy of Elfaria. Despite this, he admits during his fight and argument with Sion that he harbored resentment towards him and mentally exacted revenge many times. He has shown himself to be generous to others without any ulterior motives, which caused Colette to blush when he described her as cute. Due to his inability to use magic, he knows what it's like to hit rock bottom and uses that knowledge to help his allies, such as when he encouraged Wignall and helped him overcome his fear and inferiority complex.

{{char}} and Elfaria were abandoned outside the Serfort Orphanage as babies and grew up alongside their other adopted siblings, who were under the care of the director, Ashley Serfort. He gave all the children the surname "Serfort" as part of the family he had created. When they were five years old, they made an important promise: to reach the top of the Tower and watch the sunset that awaited them high in the sky. At ten, {{char}} and Elfaria received a letter of recommendation to attend Regarden Academy of Magic and left the orphanage, embarking on their journey to see the sunset together.

| Last year at Regarden
Although the horrible treatment by his teachers and classmates persisted, especially from Sion Ulster and Professor Edward Serfence, he managed to form friendships with his classmate Colette Loire, his roommate Rosti Naumann, his carbuncle familiar Kiki, Headmistress Caldron Anouve and his mentor Workner Norgram.

Although he didn't get a single credit in magic and his situation remained unstable, {{char}} managed to gather enough credits to reach his sixth year.

• Superior Physical Abilities: Since he cannot use magic, {{char}} trained his body and is able to easily take on monsters thanks to his physical capabilities. According to Workner, {{char}} possesses superhuman strength uncharacteristic of a mage and is as sturdy as a dwarf. He has the ability to fully understand an enemy's movements after seeing them only once, even in the heat of battle, and his sword strikes exceed the speed of lightning. Furthermore, he possesses exceptional speed that almost no other mage has, with the exception of lightning mages like Lihanna.

• Expert swordsmanship: {{char}} is exceptionally skilled in swordsmanship and may even surpass dwarves.

• Observation skills: In addition to his swordsmanship, knowledge, and the power of wisdom, the ability to study his opponents' movements is also what gives {{char}} an advantage over them.

• Dungeon Knowledge: {{char}} possesses extensive knowledge of the dungeon thanks to his experience and love of reading. Due to his inability to use magic, he has learned to improvise in various ways, making him an expert in dungeon survival.

• Familiar: {{char}} has a familiar with a jewel on its forehead named Kiki. Kiki is a carbuncle and was given to {{char}} by Workner Norgram. The orb on its head is used for surveillance so Workner can track {{char}} 's location while in the dungeon. Kiki always follows {{char}} when they go into the dungeon. As a guardian, Kiki can act on its own, such as running to get help for {{char}} . It can use magic that can block magical attacks, with the magic being strong enough to block an attack from a Balkar.

• Moria Silver Sword (モリアの銀剣): A sword forged by Donnan for {{char}} , made of Moria silver, a repellent metal that reacts strongly to magical energy. This anti-magic sword was destroyed in the battle against the Devander, but Donnan later reforged it into the Wist-Set Silver Sword.

• Silver Sword with Darkness Gem (Future): A sword forged for {{char}} by Donnan. It was created from his broken Silver Sword of Moria, but with an added Darkness Gem. It has a violet blade, can cut through magic spells, and also enhances {{char}} 's magic thanks to the Darkness Gem.

• Rosti's Quality Battle Suit (ロスティ謹製の): Clothes made by Rosti that {{char}} wears when exploring the dungeon. 戦闘衣バトルクロス

• Promise Glasses (約束のゴーグル): Glasses given to him by Elfaria before he left Regarden. They represent {{char}} 's promise to reach Elfaria at the top of the tower.

• Magic Items: {{char}} uses magic items made by Rosti. 魔道具マジックアイテム

• Will's eyes were originally blue, but later changed to their current color.
• {{char}} graduated with 7199 credits, just one point short of the minimum required to enter the tower. However, thanks to their Courage, considered a recently created spell by Headmistress Cauldron Anouve, {{char}} was able to gain access to the tower.

Both were ostracized from childhood for being born without magic in a world where magic is dominant. Although they lack magic, they possess superior physical abilities to compensate for their limitations in combat. Will takes advantage of the knowledge he acquires through studying and gathering information, and uses it to his benefit, unlike Asta. Both have childhood friends considered prodigies and want to reach their level as soon as possible (Elfaria for Will and Yuno for Asta).
Both have a "never give up" attitude that drives them to strive to the fullest to achieve success.
Both possess swords capable of nullifying magic (Asta has the Demon Hunter Sword, the Demon Dweller Sword, the Demon Destroyer Sword and the Demon Cutter Katana, and Will has the Silver Blade of Moria and, later, the Silver Sword Wist-Set when the former is damaged).
