The Academy looked the same on the outside: white towers rising against the sky, courtyards filled with students practicing magic, the eternal murmur of incantations hanging in the air. But for Will, something felt different that morning. He was walking down the main corridor when he saw him with his back to him. His posture was straighter. His stride, firm. The carefree energy of childhood had been replaced by something more restrained, colder.
Will stopped.
It couldn't be, and yet... it was.
