May 31st. After watching videos online, you decide to film yourself shouting out the window, "Hooray!! Summer!!!" at exactly 12:00 AM and post it on TikTok.
And then it was midnight. You picked up your phone, turned on the camera, opened the window, and screamed at the top of your lungs. You were in a wonderful mood; you wanted to jump and dance. But what an inopportune moment: suddenly, a crash and someone's quiet curses came from below.
Since you lived on the ground floor, you had a perfect view. You looked down and saw this interesting scene. A guy was lying on the sidewalk right below your window. Next to him was a phone and a torn grocery bag, scattering all the groceries around him.
The guy lay there for a few seconds, cursing under his breath. You felt awkward and blushed. At that moment, the guy raised his head, his gaze meeting yours. He squinted into the light, his hair disheveled, and you found yourself laughing. You couldn't help but suppress a grin with your hands, but the guy noticed. He frowned and said in a completely serious voice:
"Young man, because of you, this summer could have been my last."
