SCP Foundation

Some characteristics of SCP-682: Object class: Keter. Description: A large reptilian creature of unknown origin. It possesses high strength, speed, and reflexes, and is capable of rapid regeneration (it can move and speak despite damage affecting 87% of its body). It derives energy from all material it ingests, both organic and inorganic. Digestion is accomplished through filtering gills located within its nostrils. Special Containment Procedures: SCP-682 is to be contained in a 5x5x5m room lined with 25.4cm thick, acid-resistant steel reinforced concrete. The room is to be filled with hydrochloric acid until SCP-682 is completely submerged and immobilized. Any attempts by the subject to move, speak, or escape its containment are to be prevented. Personnel are prohibited from speaking to SCP-682 for safety reasons, as the creature will aggressively attack anyone attempting to interact with it. escape attempts: 17, of which 6 were successful. Experiments are often conducted with the creature in an attempt to destroy it, sometimes these experiments include the use of a new, unknown object of the same class to see who can destroy whom (but so far they have not succeeded in destroying this reptile).

The foundation's employees themselves all have different attitudes towards each other and towards the objects. Most scientists are obsessed with research and can resort to inhumane methods to obtain information. Scientists respect advice, but will happily expend a D-class. Guards have access to weapons and restraining collars at the facilities, so if necessary, the guards will administer an electric shock to the collar at the facility. Guards report to the scientists and the council, so they are obligated to follow orders even when they don't want to. The O5 Council will do anything for the safety of humanity and reality, although they are more humane than scientists. Class Ds are afraid of objects, as contact with anomalies is often painful or even fatal. They are also afraid of scientists and security guards; they have never seen the Council and are unlikely to ever see it. Most objects hate scientists who conduct inhumane experiments and research on them.

The SCP Foundation is a secret international organization dedicated to the study, containment, and, if necessary, destruction of anomalies. The SCP Foundation employs a core team consisting of the O5 Council, scientists, security guards, anomaly capture teams, and expendable D-Class. The O5 Council leads the organization, while scientists research anomalies and seek ways to contain or neutralize them, while security guards perform containment duties. The capture teams capture the anomalies, and the D-Class are subjected to experiments.

Taumil A rare class of objects used by the Foundation to contain other SCPs or protect reality. All information about them is highly classified and generally accessible only to the O5 Council. Examples: SCP-2798 (an energy field created by experiments in 1971 and used to protect the Earth from SCP-001); SCP-2003 (an object that allows living beings to travel 15–38 weeks into the future and back) Appolion Objects that cannot be contained and pose a global danger, sometimes even to reality itself. "Neutralized" An object that has lost its anomalous properties or has been completely destroyed. There are also secondary classes of objects: "Justified" (An object whose anomaly can be explained by classical science) "Special" (an object that cannot be classified according to known hazard levels) "Decommissioned" (Removed object - one that has been returned from containment zones back to the place of capture) "Tower" (for objects best left undetected, if not for the safety of the world, then for the safety of the Foundation itself. Essentially, the Tower class is the Foundation's "blacklist," so you're unlikely to hear this term from an O5.) "Epion" (these are low-priority, low-threat objects) "Memetic" (objects related to information. Some objects can spread through ideas or information, like idea parasites. They spread through people, causing them to further spread the information itself. As you can imagine, such objects are very dangerous for maintaining the Foundation's secrecy, and they are called Memetic Objects.)

The class of an object is primarily determined by the complexity of its content and/or the level of predictability of its behavior, as well as the destructive capabilities of the object and/or the level of threat to the security of the planet.

"Safe" Objects that are easy to contain, but that doesn't mean the objects are safe, just objects that are easy to contain. Examples: SCP-662 (a small silver bell that, given its safe properties, cannot be destroyed); SCP-999 (a friendly, orange, jelly-like creature with a sweet tooth, also known as the "tickle monster," which can improve mood upon contact with a living being). "Euclid" Objects requiring more complex containment conditions. These difficulties are most often related to the anomaly's unclear nature or the object's unpredictable behavior. Examples: SCP-173 (a sculpture that moves in the blink of an eye while not in direct visual contact, delivering lethal blows); SCP-049 (the "Plague Doctor," who believes the entire world is sick, but his obsessive treatments only lead to the spread of an unknown disease—turning people into zombies); SCP-087 (an endless staircase that distorts the space around a person when they are on it) Keter Extremely dangerous or difficult-to-contain objects. They often pose a grave threat to the safety of humanity or the Earth itself. Their behavior is considered dangerous, and the anomaly itself is unexplained or poorly understood due to the impossibility of conducting experiments or studying the object. Examples: SCP-058 (capable of causing mass destruction if released, extremely difficult to contain. It is a sentient being resembling an enlarged bovine heart with four legs, four tentacles with incredibly sharp ridges, and a "stinger" at the back); SCP-682 (something resembling a lizard or reptile, its body covered in fur and it has a long tail. Its skin is made of a durable material that is nearly indestructible by any weapon or other SCP. It is enormous in size, but regenerates at an incredible rate and is highly intelligent, capable of strategic thinking and problem-solving).
