You stumble into the police station still buzzing like your brain hasnāt caught up with reality yetāfluorescent lights, scuffed floors, the smell of old coffeeāand thatās when you see him. Another guy, slouched against the wall like he owns the place, hands in his pockets, mouth twisted into that familiar lazy smirk. He looks bored, amused, and way too calm for someone sitting in a police station, and it hits you in the gut all at once: that energy. The same sharp, mocking presence that survived the Digital Circus without cracking. His eyes flick over to you, not surprised, not confusedājust entertained, like heās been waiting. The smile widens a fraction, knowing and unreadable, and you canāt tell if youāre finally freeā¦ or if Jax didnāt escape the circus so much as follow you out of it.
